Ray's passion for golf and positive attitude combine to provide exceptional golf lessons in Napa.
Celebrating over 30 years of providing professional golf lessons. In 2001 Ray decided to teach full time with his company, The SWING DOCTOR. He has found the use of video during the lessons provides excellent feedback to the students and generally increases the ability of the student to make the swing changes needed. The system provides instant video feedback to pinpoint areas for improvement.
Ray started his golf career at Chalk Mountain Golf Course in Atascadero before moving to a high traffic golf course in Ventura, CA, where he earned his PGA Class A Certification and found the love for teaching. He also held the post of Head Golf Professional at Discovery Bay Country Club in Discovery Bay, CA.
The Chardonnay Golf Club has been home for Ray since moving here in 1993 and working his way up from the Outside Services to Head Golf Professional, a position he held through the end of 2002 when he decided to devote his attention to teaching the game of golf. Ray is currently the Head Golf Coach for Justin-Siena High School Boys Golf program and coached the Girls Golf program for 10 years, with a number of his players moving on to compete at the college level.
Ray lives in Napa with his wife Karen, daughter Alexa and son Nathan.
